Marin Catholic won their opening round CIF North Coast Section playoff matchup over 9-3 Eureka 49-14. The Wildcats jumped out to an early lead and cruised the rest of the way. Celis caught a 68 yard touchdown pass during a 28 point 2nd quarter that blew the game open early. #1 seeded Marin Catholic takes on #4 seeded Analy this Saturday.
- WR, S - Pleasant Grove HS - Elk Grove, CA
The 7th seeded Pleasant Grove Eagles advanced to the 2nd round of the CIF Sac-Joaquin Section football playoffs with a 42-28 win over 2nd seeded Stagg. The Eagles were led by the rushing attack of Ian Broom, 42 carries for 241 yards. Demps played defense for Pleasant Grove and ended up with 4 tackles and 1 interception. Next up is 3rd seeded Oak Ridge.
- QB - Spanish Springs HS - Reno, NV
Spanish Springs was eliminated from the Northern Nevada
playoffs by Carson on Nov. 8th. Fralick ended his senior season at Spanish Springs with 2,489 yards passing, 14 touchdowns and 5 interceptions as well as 1,222 yards rushing with 19 rushing touchdowns.
- WR - Norte Vista HS - Riverside, CA
The Braves advanced to the 2nd round of the CIF Southern Section football playoffs with a 47-38 win over 10-2 Oak Hills of Hesperia, CA. Gonzalez caught all 3 of Norte Vista's completed passes for 126 yards and 1 touchdown. He also had 1 tackle playing defense.
- OLB - St. Louis School - Honolulu, HI
St. Louis' season ended 10/19 with a playoff loss to Kamehameha. The Crusaders finished 6-3 and ranked 4th in the state of Hawai'i.
- DT - Kamehameha HS - Honolulu, HI
Kamehameha was eliminated from the playoffs on 10/25 by top ranked Punahou. The Warriors finished the season 9-2 with their only 2 losses coming against Punahou.
- TE - Steele HS - Cibolo, TX
Steele won its 11th game in a row as it advanced to the 3rd round of Region 4 of the UIL State Football Championships with a 40-23 win over previously undefeated Reagan. Steele rolled up 394 yards rushing enroute to the win. Moen caught 1 pass for 6 yards. Next up is 11-1 Edinburg North.
- DB - Long Beach Poly - Long Beach, CA
The Jackrabbits defense was dominant, advancing to the 3rd round of the CIF Southern Section football playoffs, returning to form with a 44-8 rout of 8-4 St. Bonaventure. Next up for Long Beach Poly is perennial winner Mater Dei.
- WR/RB - James Logan HS - Union City, CA
5th seeded Logan was eliminated from the CIF North Coast Section football playoffs with a 67-44 loss to 4th seeded Deer Valley. Deer Valley held a 15 point half time lead before blowing the game open with a 28 point 4th quarter. Muhammad took a brutal hit from a Deer Valley defender and missed several series but did return to the game. He rushed for a22 yard TD run
early in the game before going out with the injury.
- RB, CB - Edison HS - Fresno, CA
A promising season for Edison came to an abrupt end in the 1st round of the CIF Central Section football playoffs as the 4th seeded Tigers lost their 2nd straight game after opening the year 9-0. Edison fell 21-20 as Central came from behind to take the lead late on a 32 yard touchdown pass by one of the top WR recruits in the nation, Micah Quick, on 4th and 12 with 4 minutes remaining in the game. It was a frustrating loss for the Tigers, who out gained Central 353-121 in total yards and ran 73 to Central's 33 plays.
- DE, OL - Hug HS - Reno, NV
Hug High closed out a winless 2013 with a 47-0 rout at the hands of rival North Valleys.
- DB - Bakersfield HS - Bakersfield, CA
#1 seeded Bakersfield jumped out to a 37-7 halftime lead and then cruised to a win in its first CIF Central Section playoff game 44-21 over 8th seeded Clovis West. Rufus rushed for 98 yards on 15 carries, threw for 66 yards on 6-10, and scored on a 35 yards touchdown run. Next up is 5th seeded Central.
- TE - Yucaipa HS - Yucaipa, CA
Yucaipa lost in the opening round of the CIF Southern Section playoffs 53-33 to 7-4 Charter Oak. Brandon Scott nearly single handedly won the game for the Thunderbirds with 16 catches for 215 yards and 5 touchdowns. Sadly, Scott's phenomenal game wasn't enough to overcome a 21 point first quarter deficit. Scott finished his senior season with 64 catches for 1,260 yards and 12 touchdowns.
- S - Saddleback College - Charlston, WV
Saddleback lost 25-14 to Citrus College in the 2013 Beach Bowl. Duran Workman did not register in tackles in the game.
- RB - Edison HS - Fresno, CA
Blake Wright carried 33 times for 197 yards and a touchdown in Edison's disappointing opening round, 21-20 loss to Central.
